L’attore è un Triple Crown of Acting, avendo vinto un Premio Oscar, un Tony Award e un Emmy Award. Ha vinto l’Oscar per l’interpretazione di David Helfgott nel film Shine (1997), tre BAFTA Award, due Golden Globe e quattro Screen Actors Guild Award (su nove candidature).
